We seek a Community Service Officer III/Manager to join our dynamic team at USC Department of Public Safety. This position will serves as commander of an assigned watch, unit(s) or facility/facilities. Assist in the administration of public safety security and law enforcement programs. This position will manage other public safety personnel as needed in addition to developing plans and implementing operational objectives and goals. This position will work under supervision of a Healthcare Security Director.
Job Accountabilities:
Participates in the creation, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive security program which reduces the potential for liability and protect the assets of assigned healthcare facilities while maintaining a safe, secure and threat free environment.
Participates in the development, recommendations and implementation of programs policies and procedures in conjunction with Joint Commission and HIPAA regulations. Assists with managing the dissemination, interpretation and application of policies and procedures. Maintains security documentation as required for outside regulatory agencies (JCHHO, HIPAA, etc.)
Oversees the Hospital Parking Lot Operations and Access control systems.
Monitor the Clinical security at various locations.
Manages Community Service Officer personnel involved in providing protection to the campus community, buildings and facilities. May mange other public safety personnel as needed. Assists in recruiting screening and interviewing applicants. Makes recommendations on hiring and terminations. Trains staff and counsels or disciplines as needed. Provide performance feedback and prepares documented appraisals.
Minimum Field of Expertise
Directly related experience as a Community Service Officer II or equivalent, including 6-12 months supervisory experience. Knowledge of applicable principles, regulations and laws. Possession of a valid California Class C driver’s license and a valid State of California Department of Consumer Affairs Guard Card.
